Compelling and relatable memoir

Shumer’s memoir, rich with imagery and humor, is not to be missed. I particularly enjoyed her authenticity which brought me back to my own adolescence through musical references, popular NJ shore spots, and the all too familiar feeling of being at odds with one’s body. A natural storyteller, Shumer weaves the tale of her complex relationship with her mother, her desire for independence, and how she learns to shed her need for control over decades. This is a beautiful story of self discovery, friendship, and overcoming shame. I devoured Bones during my commute and found myself yearning for more from this author. ~ Rachel, via Audible

Calling all Storytellers!

Do you have a story to tell?

We can find truth and understanding through sharing our unique experiences and stories. Unfortunately, many of these stories go untold. Let’s create a new storytelling initiative that challenges us to open up to others and generate lasting, meaningful, personal and social change. Every event raises money for a non-profit.

INFO ABOUT WYS

In 2018, our founder, Robyn Shumer gave a TEDx talk called “What’s Your Story” where she challenged the audience to think about their deepest most profound moments of failure and accomplishment and to get comfortable sharing the stories that shaped who they are.  She also launched “What’s Your Story,” a sustainable community storytelling initiative that changes peoples’ lives through creating connections, pathways to healing and raising money for nonprofits.

SPEAKER TRAINING & COACHING

What began as  preparation for her own TEDx talk led Robyn to create a “Storytelling 101” workshop.  Delivered in-person and remotely, this engaging training equips participants with a “recipe” for how to prepare to tell their personal or business story.  After the workshop, on-going speaker coaching is available. Appropriate for high-schoolers and beyond.

Robyn's Story

“Preparing for and delivering a TED talk has been more impactful in my overall well-being and ongoing personal development, than all of the hours of therapy I’ve had.”

Robyn' s Mission

She helps individuals and organizations find the bright spots amidst disorder, leading them to be the best versions of themselves that they can be.

Robyn's goals for you

To teach the world the power of their story.  I want people to stand up to stigma and safely share the stories that shaped them.  Sharing creates a space for freedom from the past. It creates space for possibilities and it creates connections that are sometimes, life-changing.
